Dialog Semiconductor PLC - read Press Release

In June, 2006, Dialog announced the development of display drivers for consumer products requiring paper-thin displays from E Ink Corporation. The two companies worked closely together to define a specification for a new electrophoretic display driver, focusing on low power consumption and a high level of integration to reduce costs.

In May, 2007, Dialog and E Ink Corporation announced the launch of new products resulting from a strategic partnership which will open up new markets for electronic paper displays (EPD). At the SID 2007 Dialog showed the first ever family of dedicated chips designed to drive E Inks latest segmented displays based on E Inks VizplexTM Imaging Film targeted at applications such as mobile phones, capacity meters on memory cards, electronic shelf labels, medical devices, smart cards and other consumer devices. The new product announcement is part of a strategic partnership between the two companies to develop ICs that enhance E Inks electronic paper displays, and increase market awareness of the potential for this technology.

Funkwerk Information Technologies Karlsfeld GmbH - read Press Release

As a result of the joint development agreement between Funkwerk Information Technologies Karlsfeld GmbH (FITK), Germany and E Ink Corporation, electronic ink-based information systems will be available to the European transportation industry in 2007. E Ink supplies its electronic ink technology to FITK in the form of a film called Frontplane Laminate (FPL) where it is then used to develop and produce display modules for innovative stationary and mobile passenger information systems.

IXYS Micronix - read Press Release

In April 2004, Micronix released the industry's first standard product driver for Electronic Paper displays based on E Ink Corporation's electronic ink technology. The new display driver IC, the MX834, targets emerging markets which value ultra-low power, easy-to-read displays for use in portable devices. The first commercial application for the MX834 is in a display module manufactured by Royal Philips Electronics (NYSE: PHG, AEX: PHI). This display module, using E Ink's electronic ink technology, is used in Sony Corporation's new e-book reader, the Librie, on sale in Japan.

Under the terms of the agreement, Midori Mark will purchase E Ink's revolutionary electronic ink imaging film to manufacture and assemble pre-programmed electronic paper displays including electronics. Midori Mark has non-exclusive rights to sell these displays to the POP market anywhere in the world.

Prime View International

Prime View International (PVI) was established in the Hsinchu Science-based Industrial Park in 1992. PVI is a subsidiary of the Yuen Foong Yu Group, which recruited domestic and international technology professionals in thin-film transistor liquid-crystal display (TFT-LCD) in an effort to manufacture best-in-class TFT-LCD products at PVI. PVI began to construct Taiwan’s first TFT-LCD production facility on October 1994. Located on the Stage III site of the Hsinchu Science-based Industrial Park, the 37,000m2 facility is the home to 11,000m2 clean rooms, as TFT-LCD process requires an extremely clean environment.

TOPPAN Printing Company, Ltd.

In May 2001, E Ink and TOPPAN Printing, Co., LTD, the global market share leader for color filter arrays in the flat panel display industry, announced a strategic partnership to develop color electronic ink displays. Under terms of this comprehensive agreement, TOPPAN made an initial equity investment of $5 million in E Ink. In return for funding and development collaboration, TOPPAN received the exclusive global rights to manufacture and supply color filters for electronic ink displays for a certain period. The companies further agreed to explore collaborations on other strategic projects such as plastic-based color filters and flexible displays. In February, 2002 TOPPAN and E Ink announced a major investment in E Ink by TOPPAN and the significant expansion of their strategic partnership to commercialize electronic paper. Under terms of the partnership, TOPPAN will manufacture front plane laminate (FPL) products for E Ink's active matrix graphical displays business using electronic ink supplied by E Ink. TOPPAN also will become E Ink's distributor of the FPL product to Japan-based TFT display makers.
