E Ink® Holdings, "E Ink" (8069.TW), the global leader in electronic paper and LCD technologies, and GDS, a leader in advanced display technologies and customized LCD solutions in the retail, transportation and signage markets, today announced they have entered into a joint agreement to develop ePaper Sign Solutions.

E Ink's ePaper technology offers a number of key benefits to users, including sunlight readability, ultra-low power consumption and thin, lightweight form factors. As the digital signage market continues to grow, these core attributes will allow new signage applications to develop to improve efficiencies in current solutions.

E Ink and GDS have begun working together on both high and low resolution signage for indoor and outdoor usage. Initial products will be information displays designed for public transportation markets. Product roll out is targeted in the next few months.
